When you think about it, it’s crasy. I started drawing when I was 20 not knowing it would become a passion! I was social worker at that time and during meetings to stay focus, I was drawing. I could draw for hours… I should actually look for this very first illustration of mine. Anyway, still now, it has the same touch.

Welcome to Marie Desmet’s Illustration Gallery!

Embark on a journey through the captivating world of illustrations, where imagination knows no bounds and every stroke tells a story. My passion for drawing began unexpectedly, a serendipitous discovery that has since blossomed into a lifelong love affair with the art form.

It all started in my early twenties, amidst the hustle and bustle of my career as a social worker. During long meetings and moments of quiet reflection, I found solace in putting pen to paper, allowing my creativity to flourish in the margins of my notebooks.

What began as a simple pastime soon evolved into a full-fledged passion. I discovered the joy of bringing ideas to life through drawing, losing myself for hours on end in the rhythmic motion of my pencil against the page.

Though my journey as an illustrator has taken many twists and turns over the years, one thing remains constant: the unmistakable touch that defines my work. Whether capturing the whimsy of a fantastical world or distilling the essence of a poignant moment, each illustration bears the imprint of my unique perspective and artistic vision.

At the heart of my creative process lies a deep appreciation for the power of ink. With its fluidity and versatility, ink allows me to breathe life into my drawings, adding depth, texture, and nuance to every composition.

As you explore my illustration gallery, you’ll encounter a diverse array of themes and styles, from playful sketches to intricate ink drawings. Each piece is a testament to the boundless possibilities of artistic expression, inviting you to linger a little longer and lose yourself in the beauty of the moment.

Whether you’re a seasoned art enthusiast or a curious newcomer, I invite you to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of illustration. Join me as we journey together through the pages of imagination, where every drawing is a doorway to infinite possibilities.
